First thing’s first. I must apologize for my extended absence from blogging here. I hope you know that doesn’t mean I don’t love you – I’ve just been super busy sharing content everywhere else! Hopefully you were able to track me down on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or Google Plus so that you didn’t miss any social media tips, news, updates, suggestions…. you get the idea.
Anyway, this will be brief as I was right in the middle of putting together a presentation when I popped over to Facebook for some research and happened upon this nifty little trick/tip that I just had to share with you, my faithful readers, because I am admittedly one of those Facebook ‘Know It All’s’ that the title of this post mentions and I just don’t know how I didn’t know about this already!
Ok, I know, out with it already! Alright, here goes:
I saw this post:
I thought: “Hang on, I know people can post publicly now, but must have missed the memo about being able to search public posts (although I know you can do it on Google Plus, so don’t know why I was so surprised that you can search public posts on Facebook, too).”
Next, I clicked on the link as instructed in the post. And was just thrilled to see the following option/results:
There it was! A Public Post Search option! Hallelujah! The tricky part is, at least for me, this is not a filter on my Facebook Home Page/News Feed. In order to get to this option, you have to either first type your search query into the search box at the top of Facebook, click the magnifying glass, and then further filter your results by Public Posts or go directly to http://facebook.com/search.
That’s all, got to run! Happy searching!
Oh, one more thing, here’s a hint: run a few searches for people talking about your brand/products/services for starters…. just a suggestion!
